Making Art as if the world matters
And even though the world is so radiating with beauty and it's a brave act itself to portray this beauty and create stills about flowers, there is an untamed little warrior inside of me who has shed her civilised skin and wants to do anything she can to prevent this beauty from fading.
I want to paint stories of grief, of forests being cut down, of crying women, of loneliness and the first mammal that got extinct due to climate change.
But I also want to share the bursting hope I feel when I see solidarity, family reunions, forgiveness, creative solutions, foster parents to animals from the pet shelters and sore muscles from planting greens.
To find the right way of telling how much this world means to me sometimes takes an awful lot of thinking and idling around. On other days though I cannot put my pencil down and don't feel how heavy my eyelids get at night.
Being an artist often means living a haunted life.
But all is worth it when you hear that what you do gives others the chance to digest their emotions and soothes their pain.
This is my calling.
